Jamie (Audio Antihero) First record ever released on Audio Antihero...an absolute thrill and a very proud moment for me. I honestly think it's a classic. Favorite track: Springsteen.

alwbsok Like a subtler, more British, early Modest Mouse, this album is jammed full of searing emotion, dissonance, and exactly the right amount of harmony to hit home. This is one of my all-time favourites. Favorite track: I Killed Burt Bacharach.

Gavin Hellyer This was the Audio Antihero label's first release, which means it represents the start of something very great to my way of thinking. Fantastic. Favorite track: Colonel Parker.

Steven Marshall The title in itself is genius. I don't see how anyone is going to ever do anything like this again given how perfect this is. Favorite track: 2 People, 0 Superpowers.

about

Audio Antihero's first release. Ben and Adam Parker's Nosferatu D2 was something so wonderful and so weird that this label was built around releasing their abandoned debut album two years after their split. The album was praised in Drowned in Sound, DIY Mag, Pitchfork, The Skinny and found fans in Los Campesinos! and at the BBC.

The story of the album's unconventional release was told in a radio story from Public Radio International's "The World (www.theworld.org/2012/08/nosferatu-d2 / soundcloud.com/theworld/08292012-1)

PRAISE FOR NOSFERATU D2:

“Some kind of alchemy, not to be repeated – a mix of tension, bitterness, and a way with lyrics that no one has, or will, match – 9/10.” – DROWNED IN SOUND

"Your record collection is incomplete without its inclusion." – THE LINE OF BEST FIT

"This record perfectly depicts disillusionment with the place you live or the relationship you're in, but are completely unable to bring yourself to get away from. Brothers Adam and Ben Parker-- Adam whose drumming is up there with any drummer I've ever heard, and Ben whose lyrics are perfect in their hopelessness. This has finally seen release as a fan, Audio Antihero, took it upon themself to put up the money to release the record. A noble pursuit and one that, if it's successful, will see us as the winners." – PITCHFORK

"An emotional rollercoaster laced with blaspheme and romantic despair - 8/10." – DIY MAG

"Well this totally fucks up my provisional list of Albums of The Year...Nosferatu D2 are one of my favourite bands of all time. Some of the best, most hateful lyrics you'll ever hear." – Gareth Campesinos (Los Campesinos!)

"A lo-fi masterpiece - 9/10." – THE DIGITAL FIX

"This south London duo sound like post-rockers Mogwai reinterpreting choice moments from The Fall's illustrious back catalogue. Their songs make for a snotty, sneering listen and are as giddily hypnotic as they are unsettling" – NME

“I’ve been following the musical exploits of Ben and Chris for a fair few years as they morphed from their old band (Tempertwig) to this new two-piece. Unlike other two pieces Nosferatu D2 don’t rely on heavy overdrive, effects or production to pad out the sound, just the same guitar sound all the way through, one vocal and some of the most amazing frantic drumming I’ve ever heard. Lyrically it’s dark stuff, rejection, being let down, laments to lost youth and scathing commentaries on suburban life all delivered with a dry cynical wit.” – CHRIS CHINCHILLA (ART BRUT)

“One of those forgotten albums that will be hailed as influential come five or ten years – 9/10.” – THE 405

"When Ben Parker snarls lines like, 'Every band I ever loved has let me down eventually, the worst album will always be the last one' on 'A Footnote,' it raises an ear-pleasing smile not least as this is Nosferatu D2’s first and last album released posthumously two years since the band split. If you feel let down however, then you’re never going to be happy, so away with you and buy some records by Turin Brakes, everybody makes mistakes after all - 4/5." – THE SKINNY
